In 2008, this high-profile project on the renowned Atlantic City Convention Center became the largest single-roof solar-panel array in the United States. CZAR Engineering LLC designed structures and monitored installation for the more than 13,000 solar panels added to the roof's surface, providing especially for hurricane-force winds. The panels now supply an average of 26% of the building's annual electric consumption. This massive solar power system is projected to save the Convention Center over $4 million over the next twenty years in utility costs and was thus structurally designed with cost-effectiveness as the premier concern.
